Whatever you’re celebrating, the City of Melbourne Bowls Club offers a relaxed and flexible setting to bring together friends, family or colleagues, just moments from Melbourne’s CBD.

There are two ways to get your party rolling. You can create a Social Event Package combining our Event Hall with bowling, food and drinks, or keep things casual and simply book a few rinks for Barefoot Bowls
If you’re simply looking to get a group together, book a few bowling rinks, enjoy some snacks and drinks while you bowl, you do not need to submit a Social Event enquiry.
Barefoot Bowls bookings can be made directly through our online booking portal, which opens two months prior to each date– providing live availability for the rinks available to book. (Festive Season opens on 1st October)

Event Hall Hire
Our function space provides the perfect setting to relax, celebrate and connect with your guests.
Half Day
8:00am – 11:30am
12:00pm – 4:00pm
1:00pm – 5:00pm
Monday to Friday: $550
Saturday & Sunday: $650
Full Day
9:00am – 5:00pm
Monday to Friday: $850
Saturday & Sunday: $950
Evening
5:00pm – 9:00pm
6:00pm – 10:00pm
Additional Hours
- Monday to Thursday: $100 per hour
- Friday to Sunday: $150 per hour
Add a Bowling Session
No visit to City of Melbourne Bowls Club is complete without a game on the greens. Lawn bowls is easy to learn, suitable for all ages and a great way to bring people together.
Choose from a 2.5-hour or 3.5-hour social bowling session and enjoy some friendly competition with your group.

Peak Season
- 2.5-hour session: $210

Approved Caterers + Self Catering Guidelines
Before submitting your Social Event Package enquiry, have the following information ready:
- Your preferred event date
- Your preferred Event Hall time
- Your expected number of guests
- Your preferred room setup
- Whether you’d like to add bowling
- The number of bowling rinks required for your group
- Your preferred bowling session time
- Your initial food and beverage preferences
Once we receive your enquiry, we’ll confirm availability, and the applicable minimum spend.

What People Are Saying
Event FAQ
Is a deposit required to book the function room?
We require a $400 deposit to secure the room. This is refundable in most cases. In some instances, a $40 admin fee will apply.
Do you allow 18th or 21st birthday parties?
We allow 21st parties but require security to be arranged by the Club for all bookings.
18th birthday parties are not allowed at the Club.
What about bucks’ or hens’ parties?
Bucks and hens nights are currently prohibited.
Are glitter and confetti allowed at the club?
Due to our sustainability policy, the club does not allow glitter or confetti.
